Day 12

Abdullah’s lead is now at 377 miles as he approaches the Cave-In-Rock ferry. Taking riders across the Ohio River into the U.S. state of Kentucky, it signals yet another state line to separate him from the chasers.

Jennifer Ziel, who’s now up to 15th place on the road and second female rider behind Lea, is starting her day right:

And day 12 for Damian looked like fun – topping Hoosier Pass and waving goodbye to the high altitude mountains, snow, and constant cold that have caused him trouble over the past few days:

Day 12 - Trans Am Bike Race Hooray, Hoosier Pass (3517m) is now done and dusted...it was a massively steep climb completed from long range (I started in Walden) and with the fading light! Was such a relief once I could see the summit sign that I was immediately overcome with a deep emotion. A guy who was up there was surprised to even see a cyclist and he kindly listened to my story and shared in the moment! Just so happy to know the high altitude mountains, snow and constant cold are now a thing of the past...back to conditions more suited to my own personal riding style. Thanks for sharing in my journey and the messages of support have given me wings when I needed them most! #tabr2019
